Photo Color CorrectionAdobe Photoshop TutorialEyedropperThere is one tool and one command which can help you get started: the eyedropper tool and the color range selection command. These two can be used in a "strategic partnership." The color range command can select a specific color range (blacks, midtones, whites), and the eyedropper tool clicked inside the selected area will show the exact color. The eyedropper tool can serve as a guide by revealing which shade ranges are impure. Start by isolating the dark areas (shadows) using the Select > Color Range command. Then click the eyedropper tool over those darkest areas which the color range selected. What color does it show? Is it a true black? Or is it a shade of another color, like blue? Or a mixture of colors?
