5. Hue/Saturation

Photo Color Correction > Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation

The fifth Adjustment Layer in the Photoshop color management control panel is Hue/Saturation.

Hue/Saturation has seven sections: Master, Reds, Yellows, Greens, Cyans, Blues, and Magentas.

Photo Color Correction > Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation > Reds

Photo Color Correction > Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation > Yellows

Photo Color Correction > Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation > Greens

Photo Color Correction > Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation > Cyans

Photo Color Correction > Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation > Blues

Photo Color Correction > Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation > Magentas

Each section has three main parts:

1. Hue

2. Saturation

3. Lightness

The Hue/Saturation adjustment layer has two purposes. Hue is for changing colors. Saturation is for adding color.

Hue can change colors dramatically -- it has the range of the color spectrum.

Saturation will take the existing color and add more of the same. Reds, for example, will become more red; greens become more green; and blues more blue; and so on and so forth.

The Master section, as the name implies, is used to change all the different colors of the same photo.
