Pure White Background and Removing Blue Cast

The photo of Natalie Portman has color problems in two areas: the background and her shirt.

The background isn't white, it has noise, and there is a blue cast (from her blue jeans) on her shirt.

Her once-white shirt looks as if it was not laundered properly, like she mixed whites and colors.

There is another problem with the entire image itself not being bright enough.

The photo color correction started using Levels to create a perfect white background; then there was systematic color correction on the entire image using Brightness/Contrast, Color Balance, and Selective Color Options.

Next her shirt was selected using the Lasso Tool, and then color correction was done to the isolated area to make her shirt white.
