Red Eye Removal

There is a photo color correction
technique for the common camera flash/exposure problem
which requires red eye removal.
Magnify the image to select the red eyes
with the magic wand. (Make sure the wand setting is not
too high, or more than the red will be selected; press
enter to see the palette and check/change the setting.)

Feather the selection (Select
> Feather > 1)
Zoom out and back to 1:1.
Press Ctrl-H to hide the "marching
ants" (moving outline).
Layer > New Adjustment Layer
> Hue/Saturation

In the Master color control panel, adjust
the Saturation, lowering it to remove
the red.
Lower/adjust the Lightness
if necessary.

These steps remove the red but the eyes
become too gray (no color). To offset the side effect,
Colorize.
Check the Colorize box.
Lower the Saturation.
Lower/adjust the Lightness
if necessary.
You can also change the Hue to match the
correct eye color (brown/blue/green).
