Master Saturation ranges from -100 to +100. The default setting is 0. Master saturation changes are usually relatively small: -10 to +10.

The exception is when an image is totally desaturated, i.e., turned into a black and white photo (-100).

Temporarily setting the Master Saturation to the other end of the saturation spectrum, +100, is one technique to evaluate image quality and find specific areas where there is damage, weakness, bitmapping, or inconsistent color.
